Andy Mackay has over thirty years’ experience in the Human Resource function during which time he has undertaken a variety of roles including Executive Coaching, Organizational Development, Strategic HR Business Partnering, International Staffing, Leadership Development, Compensation, and HR Information Systems.
He has worked internationally and in the US in a variety of senior HR executive roles. He has led various HR functions for Royal and Sun Alliance Insurance. He was the HRBP team leader for Wachovia’s Retail Bank during their unprecedented Retail success, and while at SunTrust Bank he built an internal Executive Coaching practice, developing 30+ coaches, that resulted in the significant development of leadership attitudes, beliefs and behaviors, ultimately driving organization cultural transformation goals and bottom line performance. He recently served as Vice President, HRBP Shared Services at Lowes Companies (a fortune 50 company), where, among his other responsibilities, he served as a board member for Lowes India GIC. He is currently leading the HR function at AREVO group.
He blends a developmental-style of leadership with a “get it done” results oriented attitude. He has a wealth of practical HR experience in most aspects of HR; he has also taught Strategic HR at the Master’s level at Queens University in Charlotte. Today, Andy has run his own HR consulting business, Leadership & Learning LLC, specializing in Executive Coaching.
Mr. Mackay holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Human Resource Management from John Moore’s University, Liverpool, England. He obtained a Bachelor of Science (combined honors) in Microbiology and Industrial Studies from Liverpool University. He is a member of Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), and of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). He is Senior Professional Human Resource (SPHR), and a Certified Master Coach and Strategic Workforce Planner (SWP).
Presentation Summary: The pandemic has created chaos in our world, and the implications on your staff are significant, both personally and professionally. This is a time for HR professionals to take a leadership role in moving their organizations forward. If ever there was a time for change management, this is it! This session will apply what we have learned from COVID-19 from a talent management perspective and discuss the necessary planning and steps to move forward. We will cover the impact and implications of HR policies and practices, business leadership, and managing employees' expectations. We will also discuss how to manage working from home impacts. We will discuss business continuity planning, using metrics to drive the business, as well as key competencies and how to develop them. Attendees will leave with solid advice and recommendations on leading the change management charge for their organizations.
