September 13, 2007 Chapter Meeting Minutes
Phyllis called the meeting to order at 12:05 pm. and welcomed member and guests.
There were eleven-(11) guest s from the Liberty Student Chapter. Grace Bailey, the current President of the Student
Chapter reported their schedule for the upcoming year.
The August chapter meeting minutes were approved as submitted.
Bill Symonds reported that the chapter’s current balance is $10,876.31.
Carol Giles reported we now have 116 paid members and she will be sending the new membership packets before the October meeting.
Barbara Nash reported the next Business Spotlight is November 1, 2007. Also the scholarships will be available to all high schools in Region 2000. Barbara also reminded everyone about the upcoming Communication Workshop. An E-Blast had been mailed to all members.
Bruce Christian had no report for the Liberty Student Chapter except to state they were growing and getting better each year. He reminded everyone to donate money to the National Foundation.
Phyllis stated the names of the 2008 board would be announced at the October meeting. Phyllis also recognized Kim for working so diligently on the programs for September and October chapter meetings. This meeting is HRCI certified for 1.50 credits and the October meeting is also certified.
Phyllis then introduced Shirley Davis. Shirley gave gifts to members who met certain criteria.
Shirley was an excellent and entertaining speaker and was very knowledgeable on the subject of diversity.
Mike McPeake and Phyllis Calvert won the door prizes provided by Sandy Justis and Judy Clements won the Wyngate cookies.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at ;30 p.m.
