May 7, 2008 Chapter Meeting Minutes

    The Chapter meeting was held at James River Conference Center on May 7, 2008. President Betsy Phillips called the meeting to order at 12 noon. Becky welcomed guests and members.

    Betsy reported for Danielle that she had information packages for membership.

    Betsy recognized new chapter members.

    The April 2008 minutes were approved as submitted.

    There was no old business.

    Bill Symonds reported that the account balance was $9,132.91. The treasurer’s report is now on our website if members would like to review.

    Jordan Shaw, from Student Chapter, share information on what the Student Chapter was doing and how well they did at the Regionals. Both LU teams placed in the Regionals and LU received the Collegiate Award.

    Betsy announced that our June meeting is the annual joint meeting with the EAC and we have Assistant Commissioner Shelby Robinson as our presenter.

    Betsy recognized and thanked our sponsors for making this program possible.

    Wood Rogers Attorneys At Law, our gold sponsor, donated their table to the LU Student Chapter.

    Betsy then turned the meeting over to the, presenting sponsor, Scott Benefit Services, who introduced the speaker Simon T. Bailey - "Release Your Brillance: 4 Steps to Transforming Your Workplace and Creating Lasting Value". 

    Door prizes were awarded to the following: Mike McPeake, Jim Pearson, Terri Moses, Lewis Mundy and

    Gregg Phelps.

    Theresa Ferguson won the 50/50 raffle.

    The meeting was adjourned at 1:30 p.m.
