January 4, 2008 Board Meeting Minutes
Board Members Present: Phyllis Calvert, Sandy Justis, Iris Allen, Betsy Phillips, Barbara Nash, Bill Symonds, Barbara Parker, Gary Davis, Danielle Booker-Perry, Shameka Wright, Carla Lively and Donn Schnarr.
The SHRM Board met on January 4, 2008, at Famous Anthony’s on Wards Road. President Betsy Phillips called the meeting to order at 8:20 am.
Betsy Phillips welcomed everyone. We all shared our favorite activity outside of careers.
Past President Phyllis Calvert swore in President Elect Gary Davis and Board Member Donn Schnarr.
2008 Programs were discussed by Betsy Phillips. We are still working on October and November meeting.
Betsy Phillips will decide on which month each member would be responsible for the chapter door prizes.
Betsy Phillips will order shirts for the new board members.
Carla Lively agreed to assist Iris Allen with evaluations if needed.
Bill Symonds passed out treasurer report.
Betsy recognized January birthdays (Iris Allen, Curtis Crews and Donn Schnarr) and presented Donn and Iris with a gift.
Phyllis Calvert announced that 76 pounds of food was donated to the Lynchburg Area Food Bank from the December social.
Danielle will announce details about membership at the Chapter Meeting this month.
Barbara reported the meeting with Lynchburg City schools will be 2/21/08.
WSET requested use of SHRM membership list to send out information on a new recruitment tool. We all agreed that the list should not be used for solicitation purpose; however, they could sponsor a meeting.
Betsy will do a one-on-one review of board members responsibilities and goals.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 9:30 am.
