    Speaker: Mauricio Velasquez

    Mauricio presented to us last year and he wanted to come back (Kelly, his wife, is from
    Lynchburg, VA). Mauricio earned a BA from UVA and an MBA from GWU.  Mauricio’s firm is
    their 29 th year of operation.  Trainer, consultant, executive coach, expert witness – Mauricio
    brings a wealth of experience. DTG clients are a “Who’s Who” of Virginia Employers – Virginia
    Sherrif’s Association, Dominion Energy, US Navy Support Command, Washington Ronald
    Reagan and Dulles Airports, City of Fairfax Police, Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity of Hampton
    Roads, and Kaufman & Canoles to name a few.

     

    Topic: Toxic Employees, Toxic Work Environments

     

    Objectives:

    • What is a toxic employee?
    • What is a toxic workplace?
    • More important – how to address toxic behaviors.
    • Build a tool kit, skill kit to address the toxicity.

     

    Summary:
    While toxicity in the workplace is not a new phenomenon, its manifestations and perceptions
    have evolved over time. Mauricio will explore the concept of toxic employees, their impact on
    the workplace, and strategies for effectively managing and mitigating their behavior. This
    includes, but is not limited to, understanding the toxic employee; understanding the toxic work
    environment; learning how to deal with toxic employees and toxic work environments; the
    relationship between toxicity; engagement and high performance; building a tool kit/skill kit and
    plan of action; and learning to have the “difficult conversations.”
