    Topic: "401k 411" Everything You Need to know About Your Retirement Plan….That No One Wants to Tell You!

    Speaker: Andy Ingram & James Holland

    The 401k plan went from an after-thought benefit that very few employees used, to a

    spotlighted and scrutinized benefit in record time. It is a key retention tool now and still

    misunderstood by many due to the complexity of ERISA (Employee Retirement Income

    Security Act). It is the focus of two governmental agencies and sadly the Plaintiff’s bar as well.

    There have been two Supreme Court decisions concerning qualified plans in the last 7 years

    and a good percentage of the population is unaware. The number of 401k/403b lawsuits has

    increased 4-fold in the last 2 years and shows no signs of stopping.

    Objectives

    • To breakdown legalese of ERISA into easy-to-understand terms so everyone can have a

    better appreciation for the responsibilities and liabilities of running a retirement plan.

    • Clearly define the different roles professionals who assist you in running your plan so:

    A) you can make sure they are qualified;

    B) you have put the interest of the participants first;

    C) while protecting all the fiduciaries and the company.

    • Give a step-by-step approach to reviewing your plan so that you can identify any

    areas of concern and address them properly.

    • Help promote engagement from both the HR team and the employees in the

    retirement plan.
