    Topic: How Ethical are you and does it really Matter?

    Learning Objectives

    • The presenter will discuss Your Role as an HR Professional with regards to An Ethics-Laden Task, a Combination of being a moral person and being a moral professional; and Being ethical requires a high level of reasoning skills.
    • Finally, the presenter will conclude with a discussion on Promoting Good Ethics in the Workplace

    Speaker: Andrea Zirkle, Ethics and Compliance Specialist, BWX Technologies, Inc.

    Andrea Zirkle is the Ethics and Compliance Specialist for BWX Technologies, Inc. (formerly Babcock & Wilcox).  In this role, Andrea is responsible for leading and supporting compliance investigations, developing, and presenting both live and broad-based computer training and policy creation and management.  Prior to joining BWXT, Andrea spent 30 years as a paralegal, providing research and support in complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and real estate and other transactional law matters. 

    Andrea is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional and a member of the Defense Industry Initiative.  A native Floridian now based in Virginia, Andrea holds a B.S. in Organizational Communication and will complete an M.S. in Corporation and Organizational Communication from Northeastern University in May.  Andrea also serves on the Board of Directors for the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra as Secretary and Communications Committee Chair.
