    Speaker: Randy C. Sparks, Jr.

    Randy is an attorney with the Kaufman & Canoles Labor and Employment Practice Group.  He concentrates his practice on the representation of employers of all sizes and industries in all types of work-related matters in Virginia, DC, and Maryland.  As part of his practice, Randy regularly advises and trains clients on lawful employment practices and other workplace issues. Randy has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America since 2010, has been named a Virginia Super Lawyer for Employee Litigation Defense since 2015, and is an active member and Legislative Affairs Representative of the Fredericksburg Regional chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management.  Randy graduated from the University of Virginia and the College of William & Mary School of Law.

    Every day, HR professionals are called upon to deal with a variety of employee issues, often ranging from the novel to the bizarre.  Do we always handle them correctly?  Can we do it better?  During this session, we will examine some real life, outrageous workplace situations and discuss the potential issues posed by each situation and best practices for addressing them.
