Topic: Mental Health in the Workplace

The pandemic has changed the way mental health is recognized and delivered.  This, combined with the low unemployment rate, means that there are more mental health issues occurring in the workplace.  As recognition of mental health symptoms become more widespread and information about it more readily available through the internet, it has become increasingly clear that the demand for services are outstripping the supply of providers.  This means that while social institutions such as family will remain a first line of recognition regarding mental health problems, the workplace’s importance in this will only increase.  This training will look at some of the issues related to this process as well as strategies to help identify and encourage assistance.

    This training will cover:

    • The impact of Mental Health (MH) and Mental Illness (MI) on safety
    • Impact of the Pandemic
    • Mental Health and Mental Illness - the difference
    • Reducing the Stigma
    • Common MH concerns and symptoms
    • Burnout signs and symptoms
    • How to identify and encourage assistance
